RoniB's Kitchen At CelebrASIA at Battersea Power Station: A Celebration of Southeast Asian Culture

From the 13th to the 15th of September 2024, the iconic Battersea Power Station came alive with the vibrant sounds, flavours, and culture of Southeast Asia at the celebrASIA festival. In collaboration with the ASEAN London Committee, this exciting event offered visitors an immersive journey through the rich heritage of the region, right in the heart of London.

The festival transformed the riverside neighbourhood into a cultural hotspot, featuring street food from renowned chefs, artisan producers, and vendors showcasing the finest delicacies from countries such as the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and more. Culinary highlights included mouth-watering treats from Roti King, Makatcha, Kasa and Kin, Apoy, FiliGrillz, and many more offering everything from curries and satays to desserts and unique drinks.

RoniB's Kitchen had the pleasure of exhibiting alongside other fantastic brands like Tarsier Gin, Payst, The Adobros, and many others. Over the three days, there was a steady stream of people visiting our stall, tasting, and purchasing our products. It was wonderful to see so many new customers discovering Filipino flavours, as well as returning customers who came from different areas to support us. Saturday was particularly busy, and by the end of the day, we had completely sold out of everything! It was a truly amazing experience, with all the producers supporting one another, creating a friendly and vibrant atmosphere.

We even had the honour of being featured in the 6 o'clock BBC News! Did you spot us?

Inside the Power Station, the Artisan Market buzzed with activity, offering shoppers a chance to explore Southeast Asian crafts and food products, from handmade jewellery and homewares to sauces, spices, and snacks. Among the offerings were exciting hands-on arts and crafts workshops, where participants could try their hand at Batik painting or lantern making.

Outside, live performances filled the air, with traditional dances, DJ sets, and pop-up performances entertaining festival-goers throughout the weekend. For families, interactive games and children's activities provided fun for all ages, including traditional Southeast Asian childhood games and creative workshops for little explorers.

CelebrASIA was not only a feast for the senses but a celebration of the deep cultural ties between Southeast Asia and London, making it a must-visit event for foodies, families, and culture lovers alike.

We can’t wait for next year!
